
It was the most fun road trip I remember. But, hey… it stuck! The innuendos began to role off the tongue.

The name however, was at first a ‘joke’ on a long road trip. The concept of a dessert only restaurant to extend one’s evening was born. Len and I were at an age where we enjoyed going out to dinner, but no longer wanted that party atmosphere after dinner, yet did not want the night to end either. Colors of red and gold, flickering candles and loving couples all around… enjoying DESSERT! That was it! This is the concept. On daily morning walks, my imagination would start to run wild with visions of a romantic, dimly lit dining room, with music dating back to the ’30s & ’40s. Not knowing for the first three years why I was doing this, but something inside said I should. Len Pronounced, “ ‘Wow,’ if you can do this, what else can you do.” Never letting go of a challenge, I took him up on the offer and began teaching myself and baking my little heart out at home (after all, I had my own tasting panel…)! I recording all of my recipes, saving the receipts, taking photos of everything etc.

The dream began in 2003… And it all started with my husband Len exclaiming to his new wife (That’s me 🙂 )… “I want dessert.” Four hours later, after hearing “Where’s my dessert?” a million times, I brought out a fully decorated two layer Oreo Cream Cake for my new Hubby.
